What is Dual Power Automatic Transfer Switch?

Automatic Transfer Switch, the full name of Automatic Transfer Switching Equipment (ATSE) . Here's how it works:
Definition: an appliance consisting of one or more transfer switches and other necessary appliances for detecting a power supply circuit and automatically switching one or more load circuits from one power supply to another, to ensure continuous and reliable operation of critical loads.

Type
PC class ATSE: can make and carry, but not for breaking short-circuit current, can only make and carry current, do not have short-circuit current breaking ability. It has the advantages of simple structure, small size, self-interlocking, fast conversion speed (within 0.2 S) , safety and reliability, but it needs to be equipped with short-circuit protection appliances.
CB class ATSE: equipped with overcurrent release, main contact can be connected and used to break short circuit current, in addition to automatic conversion function, also has short circuit current protection function. Usually by the two same circuit breaker through the operating mechanism, under the control of the controller to achieve automatic power conversion, the disadvantage is that the switching time is relatively long, generally in 1000-2500 milliseconds.
Static transfer switch (STS) : capable of switching power supplies without interruption, providing continuous, clean power to sensitive equipment for a very short period of time, usually no more than 8 milliseconds, it is mainly composed of intelligent control board, high-speed silicon controlled rectifier and circuit breaker. It is suitable for UPS-UPS, UPS-generator, UPS-mains, mains-mains and any two-way power conversion without power cut.

Working principle: through real-time monitoring of voltage, frequency, phase and other parameters of common power supply and standby power supply, when the common power supply is abnormal, in the case of loss of voltage, undervoltage, phase failure, overvoltage or abnormal frequency, the controller of the automatic transfer switch will issue commands to drive the actuator action of the transfer switch, the load circuit is switched quickly and safely from the common power supply to the standby power supply to ensure the continuous power supply of the load. When the common power supply return to normal, the automatic transfer switch will automatically switch the load circuit back to the common power supply according to the set rules.
